FLAME TREE ACQUIRE WORLD ENGLISH RIGHTS IN RAMSEY CAMPBELL’S NEW NOVEL EMBRACE THE DARK

Don D’Auria of Flame Tree Press has acquired World English rights in EMBRACE THE DARK, the new novel by doyen of horror writers, Ramsey Campbell. The book will be published in 2027. The agent was John Jarrold.

Ryan Purchiss is promoting his latest crime novel when he’s approached to investigate an occult society, the Enfolders. He’s desperate for a theme for his next book, and so he infiltrates the cult, to learn it’s more disturbing and powerful than he was led to believe. It’s one thing to write about an investigator, quite another to learn secrets too dark for the world to know. How many people he meets may belong? How much of an influence may the cult have over the world and his life? Will it destroy him before he can destroy it, and his mind as well?

Flame Tree have published Ramsey’s most recent novels, ANCESTRAL, AN ECHO OF CHILDREN, THE INCUBATIONS, THE LONELY LANDS, FELLSTONES, THE WISE FRIEND and SOMEBODY’S VOICE, as well as a number of his backlist titles.

Ramsey Campbell  is the only living horror writer to appear in the Oxford Companion to English Literature. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of Liverpool John Moores University in 2015.

Film-maker, screenwriter, producer and novelist Guillermo del Toro has tweeted about Ramsey Campbell: “An absolute master of modern horror. And a damn fine writer at that.”

“Flame Tree have been Ramsey’s main publisher in the UK and US for almost a decade,” said John Jarrold. “Nick Wells, Don D’Auria and the team are to be congratulated!”
