New two-book world rights deal for Jasper Kent

Transworld Publisher’s Simon Taylor has acquired world rights to the fourth and fifth volumes of the Danilov Quintet of historical vampire novels by Jasper Kent. The agent was John Jarrold.

The first book in this sequence, Jasper’s debut TWELVE, was launched very successfully in the UK in January 2009 (it was the second highest-selling trade paperback debut novel right across UK publishing in that year). The sequel, THIRTEEN YEARS LATER, appeared in the UK in March 2010 and THE THIRD SECTION, set during the Crimean War, is published this August. Rights sales include the USA, France, Italy, Brazil, Turkey and Poland.

‘As his fast-growing band of UK and overseas fans will testify, Jasper has given us some fiendishly different vampires,’ Simon said, ‘and we’re thrilled we’re going to be seeing their story right through to the very end.’
