Crime Novel Deal for Eric Brown

Kate Lyall Grant, Publisher at Severn House, has acquired the opening novel of a new crime series from author Eric Brown.  The novel, entitled The Grub Street Murders, introduces crime novelist Donald Langham and Maria Dupré, the daughter of a French Cultural Secretary in London who works part-time for Langham’s literary agent.  As blackmail escalates to murder they are both drawn into a very murky story in 1950s London…

Kate Lyall Grant said: “I am thrilled to be acquiring highly acclaimed SF writer Eric Brown for the Creme de la Crime imprint. His beautifully observed period crime novel takes his writing in an intriguing new direction.”

The agent was John Jarrold, and the deal was for World English Language rights. The book is due for publication in spring 2013.
