JOHN JARROLD LITERARY AGENCY TO REPRESENT UK AND TRANSLATION RIGHTS FOR MELINDA SNODGRASS

The John Jarrold Literary Agency now represents UK and translation rights for US author Melinda Snodgrass.

Melinda’s novels include the Edge series of contemporary fantasy, the space opera series The Imperials and the Linnet Ellery urban fantasy series written under the pseudonym Phillipa Bornikova.

She wrote several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation while serving as the series’ story editor during its second and third seasons. She was story editor on Reasonable Doubts, to which she also  contributed produced scripts, as she did for the series Odyssey 5The Outer Limits and SeaQuest DSV; she was also a consulting producer on The Profiler.

With George R R Martin she co-created and edited the Wild Cards series of shared-world books, and is now acting as an executive producer and writer on the recently-announced UCP (Universal Cable Productions) TV series. Wild Cards imagines a world that was intentionally infected by an alien virus in 1946. Ninety per cent of those infected die. Of the remaining 10%, most are deformed (called Jokers) and 1% (called Aces) get superpowers, from flight to mind-reading, which they use for both good and evil.

John Jarrold said: “I’ve known Melinda for many years both as a friend and a wonderful writer.  I was honoured and delighted to be asked to represent her.  Her novels are outstanding and it’s going to be fun!”
